For me, a Lobster Roll is the ultimate determining factor for good seafood. Which is why, it was a no brainer to order one at a restaurant named - the New England Seafood Co. My boss and I met for dinner last Friday and knowing my love for seafood, he suggested this place. We walked into a small restaurant with a very casual ambiance & a bright cobalt blue wall. I was immediately intrigued.
When my Lobster Roll arrived, it looked simple and less frivolous than other lobster rolls I’ve had before. It was a no fuss sandwich with succulent pieces of lobster, mildly seasoned, served on a lightly buttered hot dog bun along with a side of clarified butter. And… it wasn’t doused in mayonnaise either! Bonus: It came with an order of their house made potato chips which were also seasoned to perfection. I’m definitely going back again and next time with more room, so I can try their Lobster Grilled Cheese!
There are many restaurants that go retail after a few years of operation, but NESO did it backwards, so you know they know their seafood! While at the restaurant, you can peruse through their menu or through their selection of fresh fish, which is available for purchase.
Owned by The Mazza family, their hope was to deliver New England to the Midwest and they’ve done that successfully!
